Creating eCards for our clients

Logic:

Since Maltix eCards are powered by QR codes, the primary device used to access them is a Smartphone.
Because the QR code acts as a physical-to-digital bridge, the process relies on devices with integrated cameras and internet connectivity. Here is the breakdown of how different devices interact with them:

1. Smartphones (The Primary Device) This is the "native" environment for an eCard.
  • iOS & Android: Modern smartphones have QR scanning built directly into the native camera app. No third-party apps are required.

  • The User Experience: A user scans the code, and the eCard opens in the mobile browser (Safari, Chrome, or Samsung Internet). It is designed to look and feel like a mini-app or a high-end mobile landing page.

2. Tablets
  • iPad/Android Tablets: These work exactly like smartphones. They are frequently used in retail settings or trade shows where a tablet is mounted on a stand, displaying the QR code for others to scan, or used to view the card on a larger screen.
3. Wearables (Smartwatches)
  • Apple Watch / Galaxy Watch: You can actually display your own eCard QR code on your watch face. Another person then uses their smartphone to scan your wrist. It’s one of the fastest ways to share contact info.

4. Laptops & Desktops (Indirect Access) While you don't "scan" a QR code with a laptop very often, the eCard itself is ultimately just a URL (web link).
  • Webcams: Some laptops can scan a QR code via the webcam if the user has specific software open, but this is rare.
  • Direct Link: Usually, if an eCard is shared via email or LinkedIn, the desktop user simply clicks the link, and the eCard opens in their desktop browser.
